Facebook Breaks Apps being Pre-installed on Huawei Phones
Facebook has reserved steps to stop its apps being pre-installed on Huawei smartphones, Reuter’s reports.
The ban covers the main Facebook app, as well as apps from its secondary firms WhatsApp and Instagram.
The action was taken in reply to US government action in May to bar US companies from using foreign telecom firms it regards as a security risk.
People who previously own a Huawei phone and have the related apps installed can still carry on using them.
Facebook said that they would also carry on supplying updates to existing users on Huawei phones.
Huawei has not commented on the Facebook judgment.
The decision only spread on to pre-installed apps and does not stop Huawei smartphone owners downloading and installing the apps once they receive their phones.
However, this option wills no long time available if Google limits access by Huawei phones to its Play store in the future.
The decision is a new blow to Huawei, which this week well-read that the Google will no long time let the company uses its core Android software after in August.
For now, the Play store for Android and all Google apps will carry on to be available to Huawei.
